Living at The Somerset in Somerset West truly means having everything you need nearby. Its prime location makes it easy to enjoy all the area has to offer, and the Lord Somerset Clubhouse is the lively, welcoming heart of our community, where friends love to gather. The Somerset also meets all practical and lifestyle requirements, with friendly and professional healthcare on-site.
Our residents and their families were invited to attend an Open Day at The Somerset to discuss empowering care and inspiring well-being.

On Tuesday, March 10, an Open Day was held where empowering care and inspiring well-being were discussed. It was a great opportunity to connect with the Macadamia Care team, learn more about their care and well-being services, and see firsthand how they support residents every day. MacCare’s Care Director, Heide Archer, was available to answer questions. Residents and their families enjoyed an informative and engaging event.

The morning consisted of:
- A presentation on MacCare well-being programmes
- An overview of services offered at the Care Centre
- An open question-and-answer session
- A guided walk through The Somerset Care Centre

The Somerset is dedicated to helping residents enjoy a comfortable and independent life right here in the village. Whether they prefer complete independence or some support, MacCare offers a range of care options to suit their needs. For those who require it, our Care Centre provides personalised 24-hour care in a warm, homely setting designed with comfort in mind, complete with amenities and lovely views of False Bay. The Centre features 17 private rooms and a spacious lounge, all designed to support residents’ well-being through personalised care that involves their families and caters to individual preferences.
With the guidance of MacCare’s Care Director, Sr Heide Archer, a guided walk through The Somerset Care Centre was informative, as residents and their families could see first-hand the services on offer.

Basic care services are available to all residents and are covered in the levy. The care centre offers monthly clinic services to monitor your vital health indicators and assist in developing your personalised care plan. In the event you require extra care (e.g., after hospitalisation), each household is entitled to five days of respite care in the care centre (per annum), at no charge. And should full-time admission to the care centre be necessary, residents of The Somerset receive a 15% discount on the published external rate.
