Should you ever ask anyone at The Somerset what makes it the place to be, the unanimous answer would be: The Residents! They are kind, generous people, and our vibrant community loves making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

Recently, our residents spent a wonderful morning at Light and Hope Nursery School, where they planted vegetable seedlings with the children! Growing seeds of hope is a powerful way to bring light, comfort, and positive change to those who need it most!

The process began a few days earlier with the preparation of the vegetable beds using nutrient-rich compost, with valuable assistance from Patrick, the gardener.

The seedlings were then carefully prepared at The Somerset, and the Seed of Hope team laid out the garden to make planting easy and enjoyable for the children.

Each child proudly planted their own seedling and marked it with their name, giving them a sense of ownership and excitement as they watched it grow.

This was far more than a gardening activity; it was an opportunity to teach the children about caring for nature, responsibility, and where food comes from. In time, the vegetables will also help provide fresh produce for the school’s kitchen.

We are so grateful to our residents for their time, energy, and big hearts. Thank you for showing that together, we can plant seeds of hope and grow a brighter future.
