SA Guide Dogs Association and the Bob Mowday Big Band Orchestral Fundraiser Concert at The Somerset

At The Somerset, we had the wonderful opportunity to host a heartfelt fundraising concert at The Lord Somerset Clubhouse, in partnership with the Bob Mowday Big Band Orchestra. It was all in support of the South African Guide-Dogs Association, a truly inspiring non-profit organisation committed to empowering those who are visually and physically impaired.

Guide dogs are true heroes, offering safety, independence, and companionship to those who need it most. Their impact goes far beyond mobility; they bring confidence, joy, and emotional support to so many lives.

Our vibrant Somerset community came together for the sixth time, filling the clubhouse with generosity and spirit. Residents enjoyed an unforgettable afternoon as the talented 21-piece orchestral band, led by the wonderful Bob Mowday, filled the air with swing, jazz, pop, and Latin favourites. These passionate volunteer musicians played from the heart, donating their time and talent to make a difference.

All the funds raised were donated to The Guide-Dogs Association. Thank you to everyone who joined us and supported this incredible cause. Together, we’re making a meaningful impact: one note, one paw, and one smile at a time!
