Silver Fit and Active Aging at The Somerset in Somerset West

We ask ourselves what are we doing now to prevent frailty and compromised mobility in our older years? How are we going to keep fit and strong? Are we starting to feel the effects of aging, … but hate the idea of going to a gym?

At The Somerset Lifestyle and Retirement Village in Somerset West, we are committed to encouraging Active Aging.

Recently, Hannah Raath – a Biokineticist and founder of Silver Fit, addressed some of our residents about exercise solutions and the benefits of staying active.

Silver Fit is an exercise and wellness programme specifically designed to keep older adults (50+) mobile, independent and strong. Community-based classes are fun and social and people are encouraged to work at their own pace and ability. Hannah is passionate about helping to keep seniors fit and healthy and helping them to live the best life they can through active aging.

Our aim at The Somerset is to support you in your own home within the village, allowing you to remain as independent as is comfortable, for as long as possible. Whether you are fully independent – or could benefit from support or assistance – we want you to have peace of mind that with the spectrum of care options available, we can make sure your needs are met. Basic care services are available to all residents and are covered in the resident levy.
